Norsk vinner annonsert - NATIONAL AWARDS 2020

Organisasjonen World Photography og Sony Norge er stolte over å avsløre Bjørn-Arild Schancke som vinner av Norway National Award i Sony World Photography Awards 2020.

National Awards er et initiativ av organisasjonen World Photography og Sony for å støtte lokale fotomiljøer i 63 land over hele verden. En fotograf fra hver nasjon belønnes for sitt bidrag, som blant annet gir dem muligheten til å vise frem sitt arbeid for et globalt publikum på den anerkjente Sony Photography Award 2020-utstillingen i Somerset House i London fra 17. april til 4. mai.

Bjørn-Arild Schancke ble valgt anonymt av dommerne for sitt bilde i kategorien Arkitektur i klassen Open.

Over 345 000 bilder ble sendt inn i forkant av konkurransen og over 190 000 deltok i Open. Det er ifølge Sony det høyeste antallet påmeldinger hittil. Den norske vinneren, Bjørn Arild Schancke, er takknemlig for mulighetene konkurransen har gitt han.

– Sony World Photography Award gir meg en mulighet til å vise verden arbeidet mitt som fotograf, og har gitt meg muligheten til å få et større nettverk innen fotografering, sier han.

Som vinner av National Award vil Bjørn-Arild også motta digitalt fotoutstyr fra Sony.

SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS COMPETITIONS

The Sony World Photography Awards 2020 competitions include:

• Professional competition - Judged anonymously on a body of work. 10 categories to enter, including a newly introduced ‘Environment’ category.
• Open competition - Judged anonymously on a single image. 10 categories to enter.
• Youth competition - Judged anonymously on a single image responding to monthly themes, for photographers aged 12-19.
• Student competition - For academic institutions, a body of work responding to one brief on the theme of ‘Invisible Lines’. Shortlisted photographers then submit a series of images responding to a second brief.
• National Awards - Celebrating local photographic talent in more than 50 countries, judged anonymously upon a single image.
