15.12.2011 Cad-Q is moving forward on BIM-solutions within infrastructure in the Nordic region through the acquisition of GeoSol
New and existing customers can now take advantage of an overall package in areas such as planning, design, construction and maintenance; through access to tools and methods in order to create, evaluate, and communicate in their infrastructure projects.
“Cad-Q is already an important player within BIM for the building industry and with the acquisition of GeoSol we strengthen the operations and delivery capability within infrastructure”, says Rolf Kjærnsli, CEO Cad-Q. “We have implemented BIM-methodology in projects with our building design and construction customers and will together with our new colleagues be able to expand that competence outside of the building to the infrastructure market. We want to provide a concept that allows customers to, already in early stages, analyze and simulate their projects and take them forward through planning to management”, he explains further.
GeoSol was founded in 2006 by Martin Burrows and Arne Stoor, and together they have extensive experience in the industry as well as Autodesk product portfolio in GIS**. GeoSol has several products and concepts that Cad-Q will continue to develop to the Swedish market as well as plans to introduce to the Nordic region.
“The acquisition gives us the opportunity to continue working and advance what we do best today: to work with infrastructure solutions from Autodesk. This means that we can focus fully on our customers”, says Martin Burrows, founder of GeoSol, who after the acquisition will continue his work at Cad-Q.
Cad-Q will consolidate operations from January 2012. The parties have decided not to reveal any details about the transaction.
