Exigo demonstrates its flexibility onboard Finlandia

EXIGO has been used in a new way whilst being installed on board the Finnish shipping company Eckerö Line’s vessel, Finlandia. Our service technicians installed our equipment last week whilst the vessel was in operation.

Retrofit completed using existing speakers and amplifiers

We performed a partial update of the existing analogue PA/GA on the vessel. The difference of this retrofit from other retrofits is that we were able to use existing speakers and existing amplifiers.

We changed the control units and microphone stations, and interfaced the existing speakers and amplifiers to our digitalEXIGO controller,ESC1, through ourTKIE-2kit.

Vessel remained in operation

As the vessel has an A/B system we did the retrofit whilst the vessel was in operation. We started with the B system and then moved onto the A system, that way the system was always fully operating when ship was sailing.

MS Finlandia is a cruise ferry operating between Tallinn and Helsinki.
