Non-Violence is a partner to Det Räcker! Europe’s largest initiative against gun violence

Non-Violence is a partner to Det Räcker! (Enough is enough), Europe’s largest collective initiative against gun violence. The initiative launches on January 31, 2026, with a national event at 3 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. At the very front of the initiative stands a young boy holding Non-Violence’s Knotted Gun - a powerful symbol that captures the core of Det Räcker!.

Det Räcker! is a broad mobilization to put an end to violence in society and to defend children’s right to safety. The initiative is founded by Susanne Yakes, Aneta Demir, and Sebastian Stakset. three initiators who have all been personally affected by violence and who are now bringing Sweden together around shared responsibility.

On January 31, artists, authors, politicians, child rights organizations, and civil society actors will gather to make a clear statement that enough is enough. Participating artists include Tomas Stenström, ADAAM, Lisa Nilsson, Sabina Ddumba, and many others.

During the event, Non-Violence will present a specially designed Knotted Gun sculpture to Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, in his capacity as a representative of the Swedish Parliament. The handover is a symbolic act and a clear call for political leaders to unite behind the initiative, so that together we can put an end to the violence.

The event on January 31 marks the beginning of a long-term commitment. Following the event, Non-Violence and Det Räcker! will join forces with several of Sweden’s largest child rights organizations, the Swedish barnombudsman, the police, and other key societal actors to create real and lasting change and to combat the violence epidemic in Sweden.

The partnership is built on a shared conviction. Violence is not inevitable. It can be stopped through long term preventive action, collaboration, and a clear focus on children and young people. Together, we WILL put an end to the violence.
