The Non-Violence Project Foundation (NVPF), based in Geneva, opens office in India.

The Non-Violence Project Foundation (NVPF), based in Geneva, opens their India office.

The objective is to educate 3 million young people by the year 2025.

The Non-Violence Project Foundation has just officially launched the NVP India office in the presence of local authorities. India is the 31st country in which NVPF is active. Birendra Kumar, the local director, is now starting to implement the NVP educational programs in schools around the country.

The Non-Violence Project Foundation is a Swiss non-profit organization founded in 1993 and based in Geneva. The mission of the foundation is to contribute to the creation of a better world by bringing education to young people around the world enabling them to learn how to behave and take responsibility in all violent situations.

Their educational program works towards prevention through subjects like respect for one another, self-esteem, tolerance, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, bullying, etc. It is designed for young people ages 10-19 and combines academics with athletics. The Foundation has received numerous international awards and recognitions.

“India has long been a country in which we wish to work. We are lucky to have a strong and determined team in place going forward.” affirmed Blaise Obverson, the CEO General Director of NVPF.

30 trainers and 10 ‘master trainers’ have been trained over the past few weeks in order to cover the areas in focus.

“From 2018 to 2025, we will convert 100 boarding schools, to schools for our educational program, ‘Peace Schools for Sustainability’, and between 2020 and 2030, we will establish one ‘Peace School’ in every state capital of India. Our goal is to educate 3 million young people by the year 2025”, said local director Birendra Kumar.
