The city of Lappeenranta will use Artificial Intelligence to ensure good indoor air conditions

The city of Lappeenranta has initiated a cooperation with Nuuka Solutions to use their AI-AIR artificial intelligence application to ensure better indoor air conditions and reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in their public buildings.

The project consists of a pilot of two of the city’s kindergartens. The aim is to apply machine learning technology in the buildings to make their HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) processes more efficient.

The project is a part of the Greenreality program of the City of Lappeenranta. Under this, the city aims to reduce the environmental impacts of its operations. It intends to become a carbon-neutral city by 2030 and compensate 20% of the emissions with carbon sinks and compensations.
