Nysnø invests in Dimensions Agri Technologies to scale precision spraying in cereal farming
Stavanger 28.04.2026: Nysnø Climate Investments (Nysnø) is investing in Dimensions Agri Technologies (DAT), a Norwegian agtech company developing AI-based precision spraying solutions for cereal farming. DAT’s system, DAT EcoPatch, enables real-time green-on-green weed detection in cereals, allowing farmers to apply herbicides only where weeds are present. The investment is made as part of a seed round co-led by Pymwymic and Nysnø, with participation from SBG Invest.
Enabling more precise and resource-efficient crop protection
Crop protection in cereal farming is still often applied uniformly across entire fields, regardless of local weed pressure. This results in unnecessary chemical use, higher input costs, and avoidable environmental impact. DAT addresses this challenge with a precision spraying system designed to make herbicide application more targeted, efficient, and data-driven. Independent field trials have demonstrated substantial reductions in herbicide use, while also indicating positive yield effects in unsprayed areas.
DAT EcoPatch combines optical sensors, real-time image processing, and AI-based machine vision to distinguish weeds from crops in highly complex green-on-green field environments. The system is compatible with standard ISOBUS infrastructure and can be installed on existing sprayers, making it relevant both for retrofit applications and for integration with new equipment through OEM partnerships.
Building commercial momentum in European agriculture
DAT has already established an early commercial presence in European markets and is now focused on building on that traction through broader market adoption. The company has established commercial partnerships with distributors and equipment manufacturers, including Kverneland Group.
The company’s technology has been developed specifically for cereals, widely regarded as one of the most challenging crop environments for AI-based weed detection. DAT’s position is built on years of product development, proprietary field data, and a specialized machine vision approach tailored to green-on-green weed detection in cereal crops.
“DAT combines clear environmental impact with a strong value proposition for farmers. Its technology helps farmers produce more with less by reducing chemical use while supporting better yields — exactly the kind of resource efficiency needed to build more sustainable food systems.
We are impressed by what the team has achieved so far and look forward to supporting DAT on its scaling journey.” says Maren Stangeland, Investment Manager at Nysnø.
“We’re excited to begin this new chapter with a highly competent group of investors. The investment will accelerate scaling of our precision-spraying solution - helping farmers produce more with less, while reducing environmental impact.” says Kristian Kaurstad Morthen, CEO at Dimensions Agri Technologies.
