Global Startup EXPO 2026 to Take Place in Osaka October 5–7, Bringing Together Global Deep Tech Leaders

Global Startup EXPO 2026 (GSE2026), an international event bringing together leaders in deep tech, investment and industry, will be held in Osaka from October 5 to 7, 2026.

The three-day event will bring together startups, investors, corporations, universities, research institutions, and other innovation leaders from Japan and around the world. The program will focus on six strategic technology fields: biotech and healthcare, quantum technology, fusion energy, space, AI and advanced robotics, and semiconductors and communications.

GSE2026 is expected to feature startup exhibits from 100 Japan-based startups and approximately 50 companies from overseas, along with around 100 speakers. More than 5,000 attendees are expected over the course of the three-day event.

From breakthrough technologies to business opportunities

GSE2026 will feature sessions led by experts working at the forefront of the six strategic technology fields. The program will examine the latest technological developments but also how research and emerging technologies can be translated into commercial applications, scalable businesses, and new industries.

Alongside startup exhibitions and conference sessions, the event will offer business-matching opportunities covering partnerships between international startups and Japanese companies, life sciences, AI implementation and commercialization, open innovation with major Kansai-based corporations, advanced manufacturing and prototyping in Osaka, and global investment and international expansion.

By bringing startups, investors and corporations, GSE2026 aims to turn the discovery of emerging technologies into opportunities for investment, collaboration and commercialization.

Connecting global investors with Osaka and Kansai

GSE2026 will also provide opportunities for international investors to connect directly with Osaka and Kansai’s startup and business ecosystem.

On October 7, Osaka Finance Forum vol.9 : Osaka Global Connect 2026, a side event of GSE2026, is scheduled to be held in Osaka, bringing together overseas venture capital firms, Osaka-based companies, financial institutions and startups.

The forum will connect global investors and potential investment and collaboration partners in Osaka and Kansai, while supporting opportunities for overseas VCs to invest in or expand into the region.

The program is expected to include presentations by venture capital firms already operating in Osaka, covering their reasons for entering the market and their perspectives on the region’s investment potential. Invited international venture capital firms will introduce their investment areas and share their expectations for Osaka’s startup ecosystem.

A 60-minute networking session will provide further opportunities for investors, startups and corporate partners to connect directly.
