Country launches completed - sales in Q4 in 13 European markets

Otovo completes launches in Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland

The launches in Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland in the fourth quarter of 2022 follow the entries into Portugal, Austria and the UK earlier in the year. Otovo has now sold solar projects and signed up installers in 13 countries, the last 6 of which were all launched in 2022. Otovo’s CEO, Andreas Thorsheim remarks:

With these three countries up and running, Otovo is now truly the pan-European residential solar company. The ambitious campaign to launch six new markets in a year, following the launches of Poland, Italy and Germany the year before, has come to a successful end. This marks a transition to a stage where we sharpen our focus on growing volumes where we are established, improving unit profitability, and building our subscription portfolio, he adds.

Strong country managers hired - built on proven recipe from established Otovo markets

Switzerland will be led by Maximilian Dreyer in the role of General Manager, based in Zürich. Dreyer comes from a role as Managing Director at Check24, leading the German travel division there. Prior to Check24, Dreyer was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company. He Holds an M.A. in business from St. Gallen and a Master of Laws from Bucerius Law School in Hamburg.

Belgium will be led by Cédric Sever in the role of General Manager, based in Brussels. A seasoned executive, Sever leaves a Country Manager role in Takeaway.com, where he has been responsible for both the Belgian and French markets. Prior to this, Sever was Head of Operations at E-commerce player CoolBlue, Crisis Manager at CG Power, and Department Head at company Bombardier Transportation.

Netherlands will be led by Jort Statema in the role of General Manager, based in Amsterdam. Statema’s previous role was as the Country Manager for reused electronics player Back Market in the Netherlands. He was the General Manager for online film marketplace Cintree, and prior to that worked at AirBnB as Regional Manager for Northern Europe - Experiences.
