Fine Dining Restaurant in Clark Pampanga Appoints New Executive Chef
Michael Caffrey replaces Philip Golding as the executive chef of Yats Restaurant which is known to some as Wine Club in Clark. Chef Caffrey’s cuisine is a perfect fit for Yats Restaurant. He is eager and keen to continue the tradition and direction of the restaurant which quietly celebrated its 10th birthday a year ago.
Like his predecessor, Michael is also British and had worked in Scotland and England most of his life prior to settling down in the Philippines. He chose Clark as his home in the Philippines because of its peaceful environment and for being a place that is well suited to the family lifestyle that he and his wife fancy for their children.
Chef Caffrey is well adapted to the cuisine of Yats – unpretentious, fine dining without a lot of fuss – before he joined us. The extensive selection of wine in the cellars pushes the envelope a little in the overall dining experience and challenges Mike to fine tune his cooking a little bit more to achieve that perfect wine-and-food harmony. Mike’s cooking adds a bit of wholesomeness to the classic French Mediterranean cuisine of Yats. He strives a little harder than most chefs to make way for the natural flavors of good ingredients to come across. His cooking always avoids masking out good natural flavors with heavy sauces and over seasoning.
Caffrey refuses to see himself as anything more than a good cook. Celebrity status and publicity doesn’t interest this gentleman at all. After you enter Mimosa, stay on the left on Mimosa Drive, go past the Holiday Inn and Yats Restaurant (green top, independent 1-storey structure) is on your left.
