    Tomorrow is an important day for us as we are breaking the ground for the first Plantagon Greenhouse ever. The ceremony will take place in Linköping, Sweden at 10:00, February 9th, 2012. Participating are Paul Lindvall, Mayor of Linköping, Hans Hassle, CEO of Plantagon International and Anders Jonsson, CEO of Tekniska Verken in Linköping.

  • The world’s first Plantagon Greenhouse for Urban Agriculture breaks ground in Sweden

    The first Plantagon Greenhouse breaks ground. A new type of greenhouse for vertical farming; an international Centre of Excellence for Urban Agriculture; a demo-plant for Swedish clean-tech and a climate-smart way to use excess heating and CO2 from industries. The potential is tremendous and ambitions high for the new greenhouse being built in Linköping, Sweden, near Tekniska Verken.

    Urban Agriculture has become a fast growing field for Swedish cleantech companies and is now launched as a new offer to the cities of the world through SymbioCity. "A world leader in the field of corporate social responsibility, the founder and CEO of Plantagon has become a shining beacon of inspiration for ethical business people", the journal European CEO says in its nomination. The public announcement was made in the April - May 2012 issue of the journal European CEO.

  • Plantagon signs memorandum of understanding with the Tongji University in Shanghai

    Shanghai, July 4, 2012 — Plantagon International has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tongji University in Shanghai. The MOU states that Plantagon and the University will cooperate regarding research on town-planning issues. Plantagon and Tongji will also cooperate regarding how to integrate Urban Agriculture in the local neighborhood.

  • The Swedish government’s clean-tech initiative offers to feed the cities of the world

    Sweden launches a new offer to feed the cities of the world through SymbioCity, a network of Swedish companies and organizations within sustainable urban development, founded by the Swedish Government and Swedish Industry. The new offer Urban Agriculture, is a new way to cultivate food by building vertical greenhouses that reduce transport costs and emissions.

  • Plantagon wins 2012 Silver Stevie Award for "Most Innovative Company of the Year in Europe"

    Plantagon was named the winner of a Silver Stevie Award in the "Most Innovative Company in Europe" category in The 9th Annual International Business Awards on August 15th, 2012. The award is recognizing product or business innovation in the past year. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.
