Shore power has been in use for a year now
The shore power system built at Katajanokka for the Viking Line ships that sail to Sweden has been in use for one year. Based on a recent report, the system has functioned well technically,
and it has been regularly used by Viking Line’s ships M/S Gabriella and M/S Mariella. After the implementation of the system, the emissions to the surrounding environment have been reduced.
Furthermore, shore power is an economically competitive alternative.
