New General Manager for Powel GmbH in Germany

Powel is delighted to announce the appointment of Stefan Zähringer as the new General Manager for Powel GmbH in Germany.

Zähringer has been leading the international expansion of the Powel business outside the Nordics over the last three years as VP Sales and General manager of Powel AG in Switzerland. During this time Powel has expanded its business in Europe with strategic clients like Axpo, Enel, E.ON, Luminus, RWE, Uniper, Statkraft, and Vattenfall.

Powel is a leading supplier of innovative software solutions for energy producers and energy traders throughout Europe. Germany is a front-runner in the European energy markets when it comes to the energy transition itself and to new innovations.

The new General Manager will manage the two Powel offices in Basel and Düsseldorf and lead them as the hub of Powel’s activities in Continental Europe.

The number of trades is growing

Since the number of trades is growing rapidly and the lead times are becoming shorter, automation is a key trading advantage. Powel offers the automation of the entire process of short-term multi-asset power production optimisation, trading and market communication.

“We have a history and a track record showing that our clients can achieve top-line growth of five percent using our solutions. Our aim is to achieve a further five percent, through improved prognoses, automation, and better market operations. There is a golden opportunity also for Stadtwerke to achieve such a top-line growth by using Powel software solutions, says Zähringer.
