Press release -

Projectplace has ambitious goals for 2010

The European market leader, Projectplace International, increased revenue by 18% in 2009 and aims for an even higher growth rate in 2010.

In June 2009 Projectplace International was acquired by three venture capital companies with an outspoken goal to increase growth rate and enhance European expansion.

The new ownership, together with new goals, has resulted in an updated and refined positioning, strengthened sales organisation and a clear marketing strategy in order to roll out one strong brand across the European market.

- The work has just started, says Pelle Hjortblad, CEO at Projectplace. We are proud but not really content with our growth rate of 18%, even though compared to the IT market in total it’s quite impressive. In the coming three years, we aim for a growth rate between 25-40 percent. We will also grow our offices from 115 employees today to more or less 200 in a couple of years. We have a large and very exciting challenge ahead of us.

Results of 2009
In 2009, when most of the world was in economic turmoil, Projectplace’s easy to buy-solution was very successful with a remarkable growth especially in Denmark (+55%), The Netherlands (+49%), Germany (+30%), and Norway (+27%). The total revenue 2009 was 15 million Euro. In preparation for 2010 a strengthened sales and marketing organization has been established to increase sales and lead management.

A year of expansion
In 2009 the company grew from 85 to 103 employees and in November the customer base hit half a million registered users. In the end of 2009, about 23 000 projects where handled through the platform, in February 2010 it had increased to 26 000.

New customers
With a broad variety of international clients, within all business areas the client list is constantly enhanced. Some of the new customers in addition to 2009 include Manpower, Lundin Petroleum, Price WaterhouseCoopers, Sony Music, Electrolux, E.O.N, Homebase, and LG Electronics.

Development for the future
2009 has been the year of customer communication and customer input. The idea community Projectplace Ideas grew and became an important source for new feature suggestions and improvements of the service. More than 20 000 users contributed with 600 posts, and 8% of the suggested ideas were actually implemented into the service.

The development resources were doubled 2009 compared to 2008 and resulted in several new features, for example:

- A new planning tool, Planner, was launched and 4000 person’s signed up for beta testing of the product.

- Mobile project management became a reality with Projectplace for iPhone.  In January 2010 the application was updated with several new social functions.
