Buy Finnish Products Day 2.12.2017 - Salli Team reveals their Finnish favourites!

In Finland we will be celebrating Buy Finnish Products Day on the 2nd of December, just a couple of days before the Finnish independence day. On the whole Finns are proud of Finnish design, whether it is furniture, kitchen utensils, glassware, clothes or jewelry. And af course also we at Salli are proud of Finnish work - after all we manufacturing an excellent example of Finnish design and handwork! We asked several Salli employees about their favourite Finnish and Salli products, and to whom they would give a Salli for Christmas and why.

Marketing Manager Janne Slant:

During the work day I don’t use jewelry because I don’t want to damage the table tops, chairs of clothes of the customers. But for parties and official occasions I like to dress up and emphasize my own style – the best way to do that is to use Ranger and Warrior jewelry by Finnish Lumoava. My absolutely favourite jewelry is rings. Jeweller Eelis Aleksi is one my favourite jewelry designers. All his collections for men tell their own strong story that make it easy for the user to relate to them.

My favourite in Salli’s selections is Salli Care SwingFit. It’s stylish design goes will my own style and is perfect for interior design. The swing mechanism enables movement that activates the core muscles and makes them stronger at the same time.

For Christmas I would give my mother a Salli SwingFit with an Allround. Now that she is retired she has time for sewing and needlework that have been her passion for a long time. Before retirement her work days were usually so long that she didn’t have much time for her dear hobby. The Allround would help her to keep neck and shoulder pain away when knitting and doing embroidery.

Janne's Christmas present for his mother would be Salli SwingFit with Allround, but maybe not in black! The stylish man names Salli Care SwingFit as his own favourite. 

CEO Kirsi Mannila:

Products that are made in Finland become all the time dearer and dearer to me. The most important Finnish product, after Salli of course, is shoes made by Janita. I’ve been using their shoes for years and when I think about the wellbeing of my feet they are the right choice for me. My feet are almost resting in them, because of the design that is just perfect for me. My other passion is necklaces; the latest find being SCREW YOU! by Miia Magia Design that I saw in Habitare exhibition. I didn’t buy it there but it magaically appeared on my work desk, thanks to a very special person.

I have a lot of Sallis, both at home and in the office, and I just grab the closest whenever I need to sit. My absolute favourite at the moment is SwingFit, and of course in pink. I’ve been using Salli for 14 years and unbelievably my back and shoulders are in better condition now than when I started at Salli. That’s why I’ll never give up using Salli. When one uses a swing model sitting is more active quite unawares.

I’m worried avout the back health of the young people and wish that I could give all Finnish children a Salli for Christmas. My own children have been able to enjoy Salli’s benefits since an early age, and now it’s time for the grandchildren. So, for Christmas I would buy Salli Slim Swing chairs for Eemeli, 7, and Lyyli, 5. I could also have seat covers made of their favourite fabrics.

Kirsi's own favourite is Salli SwingFit, shown in the picture in artificial leather, colour Hibiscus, and her choice for the grandchildren would be Salli Slim Swing.
