Salli team introduces itself - Timo

Who are you and where do you come from?
I’m Timo and I live in Kuopio. I’m originally from Saarijärvi in Middle Finland.

You are famous for your lovely red curly hair at Salli. How do you take care of your hair?
My hair is naturally curly and it goes through no treatments. For years I tried to find deep moisturizing care products in vain from Finland for this white man afro. Eventually I found two product families, Mixed Chicks and Kinky Curly, online. They are designed for African women. I’ve used the latter one for about five years now. I order hair products from the United States :D

When did you start your journey with Salli?
I started in February 2014. So, I hopped on the ride over three years ago.

What do you do at Salli?
As the graphic designer and as a part of the marketing team I do advertisements, price lists, online banners, product catalogues, brochures, manuals and other needed materials. I also take care of product and advertisement photography and video shoots. Not a day goes by without me editing photos with Photoshop or creating pdf files with InDesign :)

What kind of funny situation have you been involved in while photographing Salli or the people behind Salli?
On one beautiful foggy morning a couple of years ago I decided to take outside photos of a Salli chair. I carried one chair on a pasture where the Icelandic horses of Sahala stable roam. The horses got interested in this guy squatting with a camera more than I expected. They came really close and eventually sniffed my clothes, nibbled my ears and posed in front of the camera - thus covering the chair I was shooting. In the end I took photos of the horses as well. Those photos are on display on wall of the stable room.

Which Salli Saddle Chair upholstery is your favourite?
Even thought this might be a boring answer, I like the traditional black leather upholstery the most. It blends in any decor ;)

In what kind of surroundings would you like to see Salli next?
Photography in mind it would be great to see the chair against a majestical forest and lake backdrop. A more exotic option could be a sunset at the top of the Himalayas. These kinds of inspirational images I’d want give people who sit on their Salli chair at their workstation in the middle of everyday life.

What should people in your opinion know and understand about Salli?
That fact that Salli isn’t just a saddle chair but a versatile sitting health concept and thus a possibility for a healthier life at work and outside work.
