3gamma - First 5 Years!

Five years! On April 17th, 2008, 3gamma was up and running and ready to do business. What was this crazy idea to build a company purely on passion and experience, but without any specific technology or platform to sell? Clearly, one must have something more than a cool name and a bunch of guys?

What gave us the confidence to start 3gamma? Well, it was not the opportunities with the latest database technology, or the power of Microsoft Vista, as a client platform. Nor was it the beauty of ITIL 3 and the potential in auditing power using Cobit?

The answer is simple. We had, and still have, a conviction that there are simple, pragmatic steps one can take to make IT better meet the expectations in delivery. Yes, we work with ITIL, and we manage change projects in and around sourcing, but that is not important. We do all kinds of non-technical work in and around IT. We have experts across the field with experience in improving all aspects of the provision of IT. If you need technology experts, or the best coders in the business, we have friends we can recommend. However, if you’re look for objective advice and support to drive improvements in practice, then 3gamma is the company of choice. Actually, looking at our competence, regional spread, strong culture and our great people, I truly believe that few organizations know more about how to organize, manage and change IT than 3gamma!

From the beginning we founded 3gamma on three principles relating to IT management: Ethos, Pathos and Logos. The response on the market has shown how difficult it is to get unbiased advice and improvements in how IT is delivered. 3gamma has, with our hands-on approach and passionate consultants helped a large number of customers over the past five years enjoy IT more.

• Logos stands for the logic and rational behind our actions. We make sure that all proposals and actions make good business sense
• Pathos is the respect for the people we affect and the interpersonal skills that are part of the 3gamma promise
• Ethos, the credibility of the speaker in Aristotle’s lectures for rhetoric, translates well in to our role as neutral, experienced consultants working to ensure your business gets the best possible IT

In the coming 5 years businesses that can make best use of information technology and management will be the winners. These companies will be equally proficient in the execution and enjoy the solutions that optimize their business. This operational excellence perspective of IT is at the heart of 3gamma’s business and our reason to exist.

The truth is that we did not have our mission statement articulated five years ago. However, today I can proudly say that we are transforming our belief that “Great business deserves great IT” into reality every day, through the organizations we work with.
