Mobile payment systems brief - IKO mobile payment service

PKO Bank Polski, the largest bank in Poland has launched a mobile payment service named IKO covering many payment situations. This is one of the largest commercial launches of mobile payment in the world and this document presents the IKO mobile services solution project in brief.

    At this years MobeyDay, June 11th 2013, PKO's md for electronic banking presented their new account based mobile payment service, IKO. The service is not aimed as a fight against the cards market, more to lower cash use and to reach a segment of the market where cards may not be present, such as eCommerce.

  • Polish banks plan for mobile payment

    Six of Poland's top banks have teamed up to create a payment system using mobile phones which they believe could grow to rival credit cards and serve as a model for the rest of Europe.
    The system in Poland, which the banks want to have in place by the Christmas shopping season, will be based on a platform introduced by PKO BP, which also controls one of the country's top payment companies
