Art and wellbeing take centre stage at this years Affordable Art Fair Stockholm ✨🎨 Returning to Nacka Strand 30 Sep–4 Oct 2026, this year’s theme “Art & Wellbeing” explores how art can support reflection, reduce stress and contribute to mental wellbeing. In collaboration with Mind, the fair will highlight the positive emotional impact of art through inspiring exhibitions, talks and experiences. Today we are zooming in on @christinajulsgaardart paintings! Julsgaard’s modern art works are inspired by her background in graphic design and her education within the therapeutic world. Her style is therefore abstract, clean-cut and minimalistic but also organic, pulsating and energetic as she draws inspiration from the human mind and life’s experiences. Today, Christina Julsgaard’s works include larger paintings in acrylic on canvas and smaller brass sculptures which are 3D representations of the shapes and lines found in her paintings. Art critic Ole Lindboe on Christina Julsgaard’s art: “Christina Julsgaard knows the art of composing her pictures with an ease that is charming and a raw will that comes from a genuine painter’s temperament. She can force out the graphical rigor that is precisely required in the abstract expression. She has the creative mindset that is needed for the abstract expression to not just be another repetition. For #ArtworkOfTheWeek we are inspired by having the world in your hand through books, portraied here by @mireiaserraescultura Sierra graduated from the Llotja School of Art in Barcelona, specialized in iron and bronze. Shecreates sensuous sculptures showing the beauty of snapshots caught in life which are full of emotions and feelings along the life journey. Her little artworks capture the beauty of moments: A young lady challenged by the adventure of a new trip, a young man pondering about his dreams, a lost girl thinking about different options to know more about herself. For this week's #ArtworkOfTheWeek we love Sharon Sampson's detailed works 🪺 ⁠ Sampson is a contemporary South African artist specializing in oil painting and printmaking. As an educator, she has earned a reputation for excellence through her printmaking studio in Illovo, Johannesburg, where numerous South African artists have emerged and grown. In 2015, she created the first South African Fine Art Print Fair (FAP). "In my practice, I explore space and the way we see and perceive our surroundings within that space. I combine a multitude of techniques in my printmaking process—sometimes incorporating layer upon layer to achieve a sense of depth and space. My oil paintings are more direct, though they also incorporate layering.
