ATMOSFAR: Apog Labs, the creators of Airport CEO, reveals a new and unexpected direction for the studio

Uncover the fate of humanity’s final outpost as you survive and explore a thrilling world of floating islands and soaring beasts in Apog Labs newest revealed title: ATMOSFAR. Players will brave the skies on their own or assemble a squadron of their friends as they scavenge scrap to engineer and upgrade flying vessels while bringing their mobile airbase along for the journey.

"With the reveal of ATMOSFAR, we're not only introducing players to a new and exciting world of floating islands and flying vehicles but are also introducing a completely new genre and direction for Apog Labs as a studio. As an exploration and survival game, ATMOSFAR builds upon what we've learnt from creating Airport CEO, a heavily systems-driven game, which is an experience we'll now be able to integrate into this new title," explains Apog Labs Game Director Fredrik Salomon. "We're looking forward to players experiencing a new take on the exploration genre, including a new perspective of 'mobile base building' which allows players to create a sense of home that they can always bring with them throughout the open world of ATMOSFAR".

Explore

Discover a planet seemingly defiant of gravity and traverse the skies from the cockpit of your flying craft: The Wasp. Uncover the Cloud Cruiser and bring multiple Wasps with you, each with its own specific abilities, as you venture into the unknown searching for answers to the fate of your newly founded colony.

Engineer

Scrap, build and upgrade! Repair, modify, customize and maintain your Wasps as you become an increasingly more experienced vagabond engineer. Upgrade tools, modules and base build your Cloud Cruiser to reach new heights and unlock new abilities.

Endure

Manage various resources such as electricity, fuel and oxygen to keep you and your gear performing at its peak. Travel the lands as a vagabond, convert scrap into resources and beware of the lifeforms roaming the skies.

ATMOSFAR features:

• Open world: Explore a world defiant of gravity and uncover the fate of your colony.
  
• Piloting: Use the best vehicle for the job! Zip through the sky in an agile Wasp or navigate across the world in your mobile base, the Cloud Cruiser.
  
• Scrapping: Live off the land by dismantling scrap you find into useful items and then use those items to engineer modules, upgrades and more.
  
• Customization: Swap out engine parts, hover sections or entire hulls to get your preferred configuration: Add attachables, decals and colors to make it your own. Create a mobile home that's yours in your Cloud Cruiser and upgrade its various sections to better support your extensive expeditions.
  
• Multiplayer co-op: Fly alone or in formation with a squadron of friends!

"The reception so far has been very exciting and we're super stoked to finally be able to reveal what we've been working on since a little over a year back" says Apog Labs Studio Manager Olof Kindblad. "The production ambition for this title has been scaled up in comparison with Airport CEO and we are currently actively searching for a publisher or partner to collaborate with".

ATMOSFAR is currently in development for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
