Belos Watches - Introducing Utö Automatic 40

The Swedish watch brand Belos just released its first model after a big success on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter where the company raised 270 000 SEK with a total of 139 backers.

Belos is an old venerable naval ship name in the Swedish navy and the watches are influenced by the beautiful archipelago surrounding Stockholm where the two founders were born and raised.

Belos Watches focuses on Swedish design combined with technical perfection - exquisite watchmaking of self-winding clockworks. Perfect balance between engineering and style. The quality and design contain elements mostly seen on watches in high-end segment and even though the watches feature a self-winding movement, the first model is priced at around 460 USD (just under 4 000 SEK).

The Belos Utö comes in 3 variations:

• White face, stainless steel, black strap
• White face, rose gold, brown strap
• Black face, rose gold, black strap

Belos Utö is clean, nautical and timeless with beautiful dial details such as the Belos logotype in stainless steel or rose gold, the coordinates of the island Utö and a date window at three a clock. The sapphire crystal glass is treated with a anti-reflective coating making it scratch resistant.

Belos Watches chose to use butterfly clasp (also called deployment buckle, deployment clasp or invisible clasp) which was invented in 1910 by Louis Cartier. The clasp makes the watch extremely comfortable to wear and gives a luxury touch.

The self-winding automatic movement is a Miyota 9015 movement (custom-made to fit the case dimension of 40 mm x 9,5 mm), one of the most dependable self-winding movements there is with a power reserve of 42 hours.
