The value of storage in renewables - interviews with Enercon and Vestas

Energy storage and renewables - insights from turbine manufacturers Enercon and Vestas

In a debate article by Fores we can read that ‘Sweden needs a strategy on optimizing electricity exports« and that »For the export to be effective, energy storage is central ». And in this area we have a lot of action. The price of batteries is falling like a rock, driven by the electric car sector. From just over 200 $/kWh today to forecasts of 100 $/kWh in 2025 and 75 $/kWh towards 2030. But how is largescale storage used? What drives the value? What are the costs? And is it necessary in the Nordics? We have interviewed turbine manufacturers Enercon and Vestas regarding their projects and thoughts.

These interviews were first published as a part of our regular Electricity Certificate report sent out 5 times/year. You will find more information on our website, or contact mia@bodeckerpartners.com
