​SD:s Joel Ankar bryter mot parlamentets uppförandekod - Wikström, Paulsen (FP) och Federley (C) skickar brev till EU-parlamentets ordförande Schulz

Europaparlamentariker Cecilia Wikström, Marit Paulsen (FP) och Fredrick Federley (C) reagerar starkt på Aftonbladets uppgifter att Joel Ankar, politiskt sakkunnig för Kristina Winberg (SD), skrivit djupt kränkande rasistiska och antisemitiska kommentarer på flera sajter.

Klockan 9.19 i morse skickade de därför ett gemensamt brev till EU-parlamentets ordförande Martin Schulz:

- Det är sorgligt och oerhört allvarligt att Joel Ankar på ett så flagrant sätt bryter mot EU:s grundläggande värderingar genom dessa fasansfulla och djupt kränkande uttalanden. När han anställdes av Europaparlamentet skrev han under ett dokument om en uppförandekod som han nu brutit emot, säger Cecilia Wikström (FP).

- Det är hårresande skrivningar vi fått ta del av denna morgon och det är vår plikt att agera kraftfullt för att värna de rättigheter alla EU-medborgarna är tillskrivna, säger Fredrick Federley (C).

- Detta är ett klart symptom på att vi lever i en farlig tid, säger Marit Paulsen (FP).

"Dear President,

It has come to our attention that an accredited parliamentary assistant working for Kristina Winberg in the EFDD Group, Carl Joel Ankar, has been connected to deeply offensive racist and anti-semitic comments. This is currently making headlines in mainstream media where he is mentioned as an employee of the European Parliament.

We would consider this to be a violation of the values of tolerance and respect on which European cooperation is based, as well as to be contrary to e.g. staff regulations art.11 and art.17a (see below) and we expect the Parliament Leadership to swiftly investigate the matter and take the appropriate actions.

Exctract of article 11:

"An official shall carry out his duties and conduct himself solely with the interests of the Union in mind. He shall neither seek nor take instructions from any government, authority, organisation or person outside his institution. He shall carry out the duties assigned to him objectively, impartially and in keeping with his duty of loyalty to the Union."

Article 17a:

1. An official has the right to freedom of expression, with due respect to the principles of loyalty and impartiality.

2. Without prejudice to Articles 12 and 17, an official who intends to publish or cause to be published, whether alone or with others, any matter dealing with the work of the Union shall inform the Appointing Authority in advance.

Where the Appointing Authority is able to demonstrate that the matter is liable seriously to prejudice the legitimate interests of the Union, the Appointing Authority shall inform the official of its decision in writing within 30 working days of receipt of the information. If no such decision is notified within the specified period, the Appointing Authority shall be deemed to have had no objections."
