Reshma Kosaraju participates in Creative Tech Talk powered by HEART 17 and Spotify

The winner of Children’s Climate Prize 2021, Reshma Kosaraju with her project AI Against Forest Fires, will be participating in HEART 17's Creative Tech Talk. January 31st 17:00 CET, Reshma will talk about how she has used tech as an accelerator for change, together with an interesting panel of innovators, creators and artists.

In 2021, Children’s Climate Prize and HEART 17 teamed up with the aim to increase the knowledge and support for environmental and climate projects by young people, to spread hope and inspire others. HEART 17 is now launching Creative Tech Talk together with Spotify, where youth leaders, artists, creators and business leaders share perspectives to showcase a collective act for a sustainable future. The first episode airs January 31st 17:00 CET through the Spotify Greenroom app, and Reshma Kosaraju will join as one of the participants in the panel.

Reshma Kosaraju - Youth leader and Winner of the Children’s Climate Prize 2021
The winner of the 2021 Children’s Climate Prize is 15-year-old Reshma Kosaraju from Saratoga, California, USA. She started the AI against Forest Fires project, a model that can accurately predict almost 90% of all forest fires with data such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, soil moisture and human behavior. All of the data in the model is easily obtained from automatic meteorological stations that are located all over the world and continuously collect data in an open-source code. 

Razan Dkhan - Youth Leader
Razan is a BioMedical Engineer, entrepreneur, and freelancer in programming, robotics and AI applications. She has founded a company in Syria that uses AI to detect diseases such as Parkinson’s and lung diseases. Youth Leader at HEART 17 and part of UNDP Arab States.

Jesper Alm - Innovator, Winner of EY’s Better Working World Data Challenge
Jesper is a consultant at EY in the Gothenburg office. Together with John Lindblad, they won EY’s Better Working World Data Challenge in the Nordics. Their winning contribution consisted of digital solutions to make prognoses of forest fires.

Anna Ryott - Business Leader and Founder of HEART 17
Anna Ryott is a business activist, experienced board member and investor focusing on business accelerating the Global Goals. She is globally known as a thought leader with a goal to change the world to a better place through partnership, innovation and creativity.

Tove Blomgren - Creative Director, SALLY EY/DOBERMAN
SALLY is EY and Doberman’s “Sustainability Ally” and innovation hub. At SALLY, Tove works to combine design, tech and innovation to create powerful tools to reinvent broken business models and change destructive behavior.

Jacob Felländer - Artist
Artist from Stockholm. He has created an app called The Great Escape where one can build own artworks, making art more accessible for everyone.

Hanna Grahn - Sustainability Lead, Spotify
Hanna will be moderating the panel discussions. She is Sustainability Lead at Spotify. Recently she coordinated and moderated Spotify’s Climate Talks during COP26 in Glasgow.

The Children’s Climate Prize is an international prize annually awarded to young people who have made extraordinary efforts for the climate and environment. The award and financial support are managed by the Children’s Climate Foundation, which was initiated by the award’s founder Telge Energi. Based on Telge Energi’s belief in young people’s ability to drive change in the world, the award is now a part of their ongoing work for sustainable development and production of renewable energy in Sweden. The winners of the prize are celebrated at an award ceremony in November each year and receive a diploma, medal and prize money of SEK 100,000 to continue developing their projects.
