The Children’s Climate Prize initiates a collaboration with the HEART 17 initiative
Among other things, this collaboration between the Children's Climate Prize and HEART 17 aims to increase the dissemination of knowledge derived from environmental and climate projects by youth to a broader audience, as well as increase the number of active project supporters. HEART 17 was founded by Anna Ryott and Jörgen Andersson and was launched in April of 2021. This initiative aims to generate awareness of and engagement in the 17 Global Goals by enabling creativity and innovation as a force for change, all in hopes of accelerating Agenda 2030.
HEART 17 is an initiative, in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at increasing youth awareness of and engagement in the 17 Global Goals. All with the aim of inspiring hope and faith in the future through the use of collective action. With the help of various creators, such as artists, brands and youth leaders, HEART 17 encourages the use of creative platforms to spread important messages and inspire action among young people. The Children’s Climate Prize shares this vision and is now initiating a collaboration with HEART 17 with the aim of spreading hope and highlighting the commitment and innovation of youth to accelerate change and action. Putting the spotlight on and strengthening creative youth leaders from all over the world is one of the goals of this collaboration.
The digital platform HEART 17 Power of Us, developed by HEART 17 in collaboration with EY Doberman, aims to lower the threshold for engagement and create a sense of shared and collective action. Initially, the Children’s Climate Prize’s 2021 finalists will be part of the platform and receive a personal action card published on heart17.com. The goal is to have information about the finalists and their commitments reach a broader audience and engage more people in supporting those projects.

Ever since 2016 when the Children’s Climate Prize was founded by Telge Energi, a strong belief in the ability of young people to drive change in the world has been present. The award therefore supports interdisciplinary entrepreneurship, innovation, conservators and changemakers. Every year, hundreds of nominations are submitted for the Children’s Climate Prize from all around the world. These include impressive contributions with a high level of ambition and therefore a desire to highlight even more young people. One of the Prize's visions has been to further facilitate networking, gather youth and build bridges, and the collaboration with HEART 17 makes this more of a reality.

The Children’s Climate Prize is an international prize annually awarded to young people who have made extraordinary efforts for the climate and environment. The award and financial support are managed by the Children’s Climate Foundation, which was initiated by the award’s founder Telge Energi. Based on Telge Energi’s belief in young people’s ability to drive change in the world, the award is now a part of their ongoing work for sustainable development and production of renewable energy in Sweden. The winners of the prize are celebrated at an award ceremony in November each year and receive a diploma, medal and prize money of SEK 100,000 to continue developing their projects.
