Cleantech Capital Day in Oslo June 2 - 3rd - a meeting place for Scandinavian Cleantech
Stockholm, 3 May 2010
PRESS RELEASE
Ministers, CEOs, entrepreneurs and investors – they all meet at the Cleantech Capital Day in Oslo on June 2 – 3rd
Despite a slow year of cleantech investments worldwide, amounts invested in Nordic Cleantech companies have increased three years in a row. The total amount of capital attracted by cleantech companies in the Nordics rose to EUR 460 million during 2009, a 24% growth rate compared to the year before, marked by an increased inflow of international capital. Of the top 20 investment deals, no less than eight were Norwegian, including the largest investment. Norwegian solar related technologies have attracted plenty of funding in 2009 through companies such as Norsun, Metallkraft and Innotech Solar.
Cleantech Scandinavia in partnership with Statkraft, Investinor and Enova proudly presents the Cleantech Capital Day in Oslo on June 2 – 3rd. The jam-packed programme is a mixture of leading VCs, corporations, cutting edge researchers and policy experts who will give you insights into the state and future of Scandinavian cleantech, focusing particularly on the renewable energy sector.
The event also features eight selected Nordic cleantech investment opportunities representing sectors such as solar energy, offshore wind, wave power and nanotechnology. The presenting companies are: SunSil, Denmark; Innotech Solar, Norway; AngleWind, Norway; Floating Power Plant, Denmark; Applied Nano Surfaces, Sweden; Glo, Sweden; WindSea, Norway; Preseco, Finland.
The pre-event day on June 2nd offers a unique opportunity to participate in the exciting field trip to the world’s first Osmotic Power Prototype built by Statkraft outside Oslo, and meet Norway’s most influential cleantech players. You will also meet five young innovative Norwegian cleantech companies, finalists of the Norwegian Cleantech Award.
Among the speakers and participants are: Terje Riis-Johansen, Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy; Pål Julius Skogholt, State Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry; Barry B. White, US Ambassador to Norway; Alf Bjørseth, Scatec; Markus Moor, Emerald Technology Ventures; Michael Struer Lauridsen, BankInvest; Jon Hindar, NorSun; Eystein Aspesletten, GE Energy; Marie Fossum, Fortum; Cecilia Tam, International Energy Agency; Oluf Ulseth, Statkraft; Nils Kristian Nakstad, Enova; Geir Ove Kjesbu, Investinor; Hilde Myrberg, Orkla; Tellef Thorleifsson, Northzone Ventures; Bernhard Mohr, BASF Venture Capital; Paul Decraemer, Capricorn Venture Partners, and other experts.
