The COMPANION™ Brand PLATONUM® Mentioned With Partner Spark Microsystems On Whathifi.com
Swedish watch innovator PLATONUM® uses Spark's UWB technology for their new breed of digital watch series.
Spark's UWB chips transmit data up to 10Mbps, delivering uncompressed CD-quality audio. The technology's interference-free nature distinguishes it from narrow-band radios like Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and cellular bands.
UWB's impulse-based data transmission, instead of carrier frequency modulation, enables rapid link initialization, lower transmission power, and significantly improved latency, boasting audio latency between 3ms and 5ms. This makes it ideal for gaming, VR, ER, AR headsets, and wearables.

In a previous press release from Spark Microsystems, we can read more about this:
“SPARK’s UWB technology was designed into the watch because its capabilities are an enabler to the vision of our product,” said Thomas Eriksson, PLATONUM®, Founder and CEO. “These capabilities will allow our customers to use something unique and tailor-made.”
PLATONUM® breaks customers’ dependence on disposable embedded chipsets by moving computation outside the watch. Leveraging interactive real-time streaming, there’s no need to replace any parts to stay cutting-edge. Processing power upgrades happen on the server, making each PLATONUM® watch infinitely adaptable. There are currently no competitors capable of delivering the same versatility and power. The PLATONUM® watches are designed, engineered, and assembled by hand in Sweden.

Building World-Changing Technology
The founder of COMPANION™ and PLATONUM®, Thomas Eriksson, changed the game for mobile devices in 2004 when his former company Neonode released the first swipe- and gesture-based mobile interface and patented this technology. These innovations have revolutionized how we interact with technology.
COMPANION™ was founded with a dream to build products that seamlessly connect you with the world and help you to improve your quality of life, products with a long lifespan with a continuous flow of new features combined with recyclable materials. They are designed so everyone can use them at all times and give you an exclusive "tailor-made" look and feel.
"When building world-changing technology, you focus on improving one person's life, not scalability. Change starts with the individual, and your time is the only limit to what you can accomplish", says Thomas Eriksson.
Thomas and his team have patented several new technologies to realize this ambition. His latest innovation is the technological foundation of COMPANION™, the Deep Augment™ Platform. A cutting-edge technology that allows even the smallest device to access the massive computing power that comes with scale wirelessly.
