  • Cortus’ first batch of Syngas produced in 500kW prototype

    Cortus’ 500kW prototype of the WoodRoll® gasifier has successfully produced the first batch of green Syngas in tests in Stockholm. “These are extremely exciting times for us as we see a 500 kW system delivering first class Syngas for the first time. This is a significant step towards the full commercialization of our gasification technology”, says Cortus CEO Rolf Ljunggren.

  • Cortus builds biomass gasification plant

    The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) has decided to financially support the building of a plant for the gasification of biomass to green energy gas. The purpose is to gasify biomass in full scale in a new way to replace fossil fuels. Behind the patented process is the Swedish innovation company Cortus.

  • Swedish Cortus selected as one of the stars in Nordic Cleantech Open

    Cortus is today announced as one of the finalists in the Nordic Cleantech Open competition of this years. The top 25 have a few traits in common: - They are all targeting big international markets, - They where founded relatively recently (a majority are less than two years old), and - They have the potential to make a real positive change for the environment.

  • EXCEPTIONAL GASIFICATION RESULTS FOR CORTUS

    STOCKHOLM/KÖPING, February 23, 2012 — The Swedish clean-tech company, Cortus, has succeeded for the first time, in a 500 kW gasification plant, to produce synthesis gas from biomass without traces of hydrocarbons. It has previously not been possible to produce completely pure biogas from biomass without generating impurities of hydrocarbons.

  • Open Innovation Project with the Nordic Council

    Cortus has recently participated in an Open Innovation project, initiated by the Nordic Council. The project scope is to develop an open market place, where innovation, intellectual capital and property rights can be brokered, and to test the theories of Open Innovation. Cortus submitted a challenge on char upgrading, which will further improve the efficiency of our WoodRoll® technology.

  • Marko Amovic new Project Engineer at Cortus

    Marko Amovic will be joining Cortus as Project Engineer starting from 21st of March 2011. Marko has a Master of Science degree in Engineering and has previous working experiences as a CHP Project Engineer and also as a consultant in energy optimization. His passion and experience in this industry will be valuable to Cortus.

    Cortus AB’s mission is to provide cost effective and innovative bio-energy solutions for power, transport and process industries based on the patented gasification technology WoodRoll ®. The purpose is to gasify biomass in full scale in a new way to replace fossil fuels.

  • New order for engineering of a new gasifier in Spain

    Cortus has received an order for engineering of a new gasification installation in Spain. The order is given by a European recycling company. The order value is 1,5 MSEK and the work finalized by August 2011. Cortus is very delighted to have a new customer for our groundbreaking gasification technology and look forward to further proceedings in this new business.

  • New Project Engineer Joins the Cortus Team - Ram Alzuheri

    Ram Alzuheri has joined Cortus as a project engineer since 1st of August. Ram holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering degree from KTH, Stockholm. He has been involved extensively with the 500kW prototype and the 5MW demonstration plant in Köping. Ram is a strong believer in the future of green energy as a substitute to fossil fuel and is extremely excited to be part of the Cortus team.
