Capio Närsjukvård selects Cuviva for tomorrow’s Remote Patient Monitoring.

The current pandemic has contributed to increased understanding amongst patients, healthcare professionals and relatives regarding the positive effects of using digital healthcare services. In response to the growing need for safe care for patients in the risk groups, Capio Närsjukvård launched the Capio Hemma service in 2020. Capio Närsjukvård and the e-health company Cuviva, which delivers the infrastructure for the Capio Hemma service, are now deepening their collaboration to further increase the quality of care and security for the individual through the Capio Hemma service.

Capio Närsjukvård, which provides primary care for around 1,000,000 patients around Sweden, has since 2017 worked with a number of projects in remote patient monitoring. Remote patient monitoring is, correctly implemented, an effective tool for both increasing the quality of care and reducing the total costof care, especially for individuals with chronic diseases. In Sweden, more than 40% of the population also has a chronic illness, and as large proportion as 85% of those older than 65 years have a chronic illness. The goal of Capio Hemma is primarily to offer patients with chronic diseases, such as asthma, COPD, heart failure, diabetesand high blood pressure, and those who also have home healthcare and home care, a more equal care, with increased medical quality and better accessibility.

Capio Hemma is based on Capio's healthcenters, which are responsible for monitoring and providing medical support. Capio Hemma has a team of healthcare personnel who are dedicated taking care of and delivering care to patients.

The demand for flexibility in care contacts has increased over the years and in various ways, both healthcareproviders and care recipients have begun to adapt to new ways of giving and receiving care. With Covid-19's entry into everyday life, demand has now also become a necessity to ensure that safe care can be provided to patients at risk.

Capio is now increasing the pace of implementation together with Cuviva, which provides the infrastructure for the Capio Home service, to meet the growing need of patients with chronic diseases.
