Czech Spas are Focusing on Active Tourists in the New Season

One of the trends in modern spas this year is specialized stays. This should especially interest families with children, sports lovers or young couples. Czech spas will thereby continue their efforts to present themselves as a place for powerful relaxation, cultural, as well as gourmet experiences in the new season. 

Besides attractive ceremonies, the opening of the spa season also brings an offer of new stays with it. They focus on the combinations of spa treatments with cultural or sports activities. For example, the Moravian Sulfurous Spa in Ostrožská Nová Ves has prepared a special stay connected with a traditional folk festival – Ride of the Kings. Gourmets will be drawn by a unique package at Teplice spa, which is celebrating its 860th anniversary this year. Visitors will be able to enjoy local specialties and beer in the oldest Czech Spa.

A new spa product is also being offered by Karlovy Vary with its concept Spa Suites. "Thanks to the unified treatment for both clients in one suite, we are providing better options for scheduling other activities," says Jindřich Křováček from the Hotel Carlsbad Plaza about the main advantages. The Spa Suites concept is also unique on account of providing treatments in one place and at one time.

Sport activities are becoming an especially popular addition to spa stays.  In Jeseníky, biking on the famous trail Rychlebská stezka is popular, as well as nordic walking. The local Priessnitz health spa is preparing a fitness park for the new season, where they will lend their visitors electric bikes and scooters. The Luhačovice Spa has also focused on fans of sport and movement. Their wellness package Active holidays proved successful in the Grand Prix competition of tourism. The popular sport of golf is offered at the Hotel Esplanade in MariánskéLázně. The TripAdvisor portal rated the hotel as the second best hotel outside of Prague for 2014.

In addition to active holidays, Czech spa centers also focus on family stays. "Most attractions, trails and activities have been modified so as to also be a pleasant experience for families with children," says Lenka Blažková of  Resort Luhačovice, which recently opened a new amusement park with a rope course and a climbing wall. The health spa in is also entering the new season with a special program for children Happy spa which also includes a sightseeing train.

Spa facilities are also targeting their traditional clientele. In Karlovy Vary a new hydrotherapy center is opening up and in Bohdaneč a postoperative ward. Spa Luhačovice is offering the Regeneration of back and joints stay, winner of the Hit of the season 2014 competition. The spa in Jeseníky is introducing hemp, coconut and hop treatments.
