Concerto Glassico

Concerto Glassico - Extensive and unique presentation of the Czech glass and fashion jewellery industries.

Extensive and unique presentation of the Czech glass and fashion jewellery industries, with leading glass and jewellery producers, glass schools and glass artists participating. The exhibition will include live demonstrations of glassmaking techniques – offhand blowing (“chair work”) at the glass furnace, glass cutting and engraving, blowing glass figurines, winding lamp beads, painting Christmas decorations, painting on glass and making Tiffany window panels.

Lipno Sport Fest

Sporting events on Lipno for professional and amateur athletes, children and adults.

Lipno nad Vltavou is a popular holiday resort on the shore of Lipno Dam. It is here every summer that you can enjoy nine days packed with sport. The generous sport and cultural program includes various competitions, sports with Olympians, book signings, concerts and other events. You can attend courses in in-line skating, swimming, and windsurfing free of charge, circle around Lipno on bike, run through the surroundings on the Treetop Walkway, try an aqua aerobic workout or any of the new disciplines. The Lipno Sport Fest includes other leading sporting competitions, such as dragon boat races and the Championships of the Czech Republic in the Olympic Triathlon, in yachting, and in long-distance swimming.

Colours of Ostrava

The musical event of the year in Ostrava: A music festival with an exceptionally wide range of styles and genres.

This international multi-genre music festival has been held in Lower Vítkovice since 2013, in an industrial area of abandoned mines, smelters and iron works with a unique atmosphere. Twice has Colours of Ostrava won the Angel Award for the Music Event of the Year, and it also picked up the award for the best music event of the year several times in the ALMA survey (Akropolis Live Music Awards) in the category of concert/festival of the year.

In addition to more than 150 bands and a heaping dose of jazz, world music, rock, pop and alternative, the festival includes a splendid supporting program full of films, discussions, workshops and theater performances.

Grand Prix Czech Republic – World Motorcycle Championship Brno

The Motorcycle Grand Prix Brno is one of the largest sporting events in the country.

One of the biggest motorsport events on the Masaryk circuit draws a quarter of a million fans from around the world to Brno every year. The most prestigious motorcycle championship in the world has been run on the Masaryk circuit since 1965, continuously since 1993. Riders compete in the categories of 150 cc, 250cc (Moto2) and premier-class 500 cc (MotoGP). Among the most successful racers of Grand Prix Brno is František Šťastný, František Bartoš, Max Biaggi, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. For spectators, several large screens and dozens of concessions have been prepared.
