Further down along the river you will come to the proud medieval castle Rozmberk and the monastery in Vyšší Brod, where the monks has been a source of valuable knowledge for centuries. One and a half hour drive from Šumava National Park you can stay at the organic farm Křížové pole. The farm is located at the foot of the mountain Vyšší Brod. The farm was built in 1774 by the Cistercian order. In conjunction with a stay here, you will take part in household chores such as milking the goats, repairing fences and you get to try goat cheese, homemade jams, chutneys, pickled vegetables and herbs from the garden.

In the evening you will take part in a big feast were you will be served dinner with food from the farm. Without a doubt, the food tastes nothing like the food coming from the super market.
