Prague to host original wedding fair
When: November 11. - 12. 2011
Where: Crowne Plaza Dejvice, Koulova 15, Prague 6
A major new player is entering the busy wedding fairs market this season. Wedding Expo 2011 aka “Wedding fair with flair” promises to be anything but an ordinary and traditional wedding event. Taking place at the impressive Crowne Plaza Hotel in Prague Dejvice from November 11. – 12. the two day fair will offer a wide range of new products and services which aim to make lengthy and time-consuming wedding preparations as simple as possible.
Wedding Expo 2011 is entering the wedding fair market with a unique concept which currently has no competition in the Czech Republic or beyond. It sounds simple but unlike other shows the exhibitors will be organised into individual thematic sections. Visitors will thus be able to find all that relates to say wedding flowers in one place. There will be other sections dedicated entirely to wedding cakes or wedding ceremonies. Zdenka Janoušková, one of the organisers of the event, said: “By dividing Wedding Expo 2011 into thematic sections we are really trying to help young couples organise their thoughts and clearly show them the whole range of possibilities available.”
The Wedding Expo 2011 takes place in the autumn, from November 11. – 12. The date is no coincidence either. By selecting an autumn time for the show the organisers want to allow the couples to gather all the necessary information and still have plenty of time to plan their big day for the following year. As the general experience shows it tends to be too late to start planning the wedding in the winter. The most sought after venues, dates – Saturdays in June, July and August – or photographers are usually booked by January.
A special wedding shuttle bus covering Prague and its vicinity will be available at regular intervals for visitors to the show. “It can be an organisational challenge and a physically demanding exercise for the couples just to manage to visit all the places that would be suitable for their wedding. They have to arrange appointments, drive round, park the car somewhere etc. What we want to do is to make it possible for them to visit in one day a lot of beautiful venues such as Vrtbovská or Ledeburská Garden free of charge and without any hassle,” explains Zdenka Janoušková. The schedule of the shuttle bus will also include some places on the outskirts of Prague.
National Heritage Institute of the Czech Republic which looks after a lot of popular wedding venues such as Konopiště Castle, Karlštejn Castle or Hluboká Castle will also be exhibiting at the fair. Couples will have a chance to look at the photographs of their wedding venues including layout plans and discuss their capacity.
A lot of useful advice will be up for grabs at the show too. The couples will be able to seek professional guidance in matters such as how to organise a wedding at home or how to handle pre-marital agreements. Exhibiting restaurants will be inviting brides- and grooms-to-be to their stands to sample their wines and dishes.
For the non-Czech speaking visitors to the show there will be a possibility to obtain information in other languages. The show brochure will clearly mark which stands you should not miss if you are a mixed couple or from abroad. The stands of individual exhibitors will be marked by special signs indicating in which languages the couples will be able to communicate with them. There will be a section at the show dedicated to foreign visitors where the specially trained co-ordinators will be able to advise on the legal side of the marriage in the Czech Republic. Zdenka Janoušková says: “We are aware that foreign visitors tend to book their weddings at places and with suppliers who are prepared to deal with this type of clientele.” This is also the reason why the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism - has agreed to support the event. Wedding Expo 2011 will definitely live up to its motto “Wedding fair with flair”.
Wedding Expo 2011 is organised by the agency PragueWeddings.com which has been specialising in organising weddings for foreigners in Prague for the past 13 years, and the website www.svatby.cz which is one of the largest and most important sources of information for brides-to-be in the Czech Internet. Both companies also organise the already popular event Prague Wedding Fair – a small wedding show for expats and foreign visitors taking place in January.
