DOORS WITH FREMANTLE SHOWCASE THE FUTURE OF INTERACTIVE TELEVISION WITH A GRAND DESIGNS COMPANION EXPERIENCE AT NAB SHOW 2025
Stockholm / London, 7 April 2025 – Doors, the next-generation Experience Management System (EMS) for media distribution, today announced a strategic collaboration with Fremantle that will showcase the possibilities of the next evolution of television – intelligent, interactive viewing powered by real-time second-screen technology – to be demonstrated at NAB Show 2025.
The project highlights how Doors EMS can transform the viewing experience of a consumer by turning a smartphone or tablet into a live companion – allowing audiences to engage with content in a completely new way shifting from passive viewing to interactive engagement.
The partnership will demonstrate at NAB Show 2025 how viewers of a fan favourite show, such as Grand Designs, can watch the show while their mobile device has the potential to sync seamlessly with their smart TV to provide: additional context on architecture, materials, or locations; behind-the-scenes content, extended interviews, and episode extras; interactive links to featured products or brands; real-time commerce opportunities (e.g. tap-to-buy) and dynamic storytelling elements tailored to the episode.
The second-screen experience is driven by Doors EMS that allows content owners to deploy, manage, and evolve digital services in real time – without the heavy development cycles typically associated with broadcasting technology.
Laura Florence, SVP, Global Channels, Fremantle, said: “At Fremantle, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to creatively showcase our content. We are excited to be working with Doors to demonstrate a potential new dimension to Grand Designs, a global fan favourite which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.”
Daniel Spore, CEO Doors added: “This collaboration with Fremantle shows what happens when premium content meets agile, interactive infrastructure. We’re making television more responsive, more useful – and more valuable – for viewers, creators, and broadcasters alike.”
The companion experience will serve as a real-world case study of how established content formats can be evolved and extended to meet the demands of today’s connected audiences.
