This summer, Drottningholm Court Theatre presents a festival of opera and concerts spanning from the Middle Ages, through the Renaissance, the Baroque, the Late Romantic period and to the present day. Throughout August, internationally renowned artists and ensembles will perform at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed theatre and the historic Drottningholm Palace Chapel.
Under några exklusiva sommarveckor visas ett urval av dräkter och klänningar som H.M. Drottningen burit i allt från vardagliga uppdrag till statsbesök och högtidliga ceremonier. 2026 spelas Poppeas kröning - Monteverdis sista opera - på Drottningholms Slottsteater. Med en text av en av barockens skickligaste librettister, Busenello, kunde Monteverdi skapa ett verk som än idag – nästan 400 år senare – betraktas som ett av operahistoriens mest fulländade. Premiär i augusti 2026.
Drottningholms Slottsteater hosts one of the highlights of the Baltic Sea Festival in August. Through a partnership with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozart's The Magic Flute will be presented in a fully staged performance created by director Daniel Harding and tenor Andrew Staples. This production was previously presented at the prestigious Lucerne festival in Switzerland.
I Drottningholms Slottsteaters nya publiksatsning Esprit! genomfördes på lördag eftermiddag ett antal konserter med fri entré runt om i slottsområdet. Mer än 400 personer anslöt till avslutningskonserten som hölls i teaterns Déjeunersalong med fönster och dörrar öppna mot Slottsparken.
