The Interreg Europe project DISCO has taken important steps toward strengthening sustainable district heating and cooling systems across Europe through two transnational meetings held in Denmark and the Netherlands. The meetings brought partners and stakeholders to address critical regulatory, economic and financing challenges linked to the wider utilization of waste heat.
The newly launched Interreg Europe project DISCO – Advancing DIStrict heating and COoling solutions for efficient waste heat utilization brings together 10 partner organizations from across Europe to test and develop innovative solutions for capturing and reusing industrial waste heat in district heating and cooling systems.
North Sweden Energy Agency (Energikontor Norr) is initiating a new project aimed at developing Norrbotten county into a knowledge center for district heating in Europe. The project, titled Advancing district heating and cooling solutions for efficient waste heat utilization (DISCO), is funded by Region Norrbotten and Interreg Europe.
