Sweden’s First Cat Bond Fund Now Available Through Nordnet

As of today, the SEF Entropics Cat Bond Fund is available to retail consumers through the Swedish online bank Nordnet. Thus, Nordnet is the first distributor to offer the Fund’s retail class to individual investors and pension savers. SEF Entropics Cat Bond Fund is the first cat bond fund managed by a Swedish manager.

- Nordnet aims at offering the widest range of funds, and we can now add Sweden’s first Cat Bond fund to our fund menu. Our customers are continuously searching for new investment opportunities and have also shown great interest in this fund. We are happy to be able to meet that demand, says Mr Jan Dinkelspiel, Chief Innovation Officer at Nordnet.

The Fund opened in February 2015. Entropics Asset Management’s explicit purpose of the Fund is to offer a complimentary asset class to traditional portfolios, mainly consisting of equity and interest bearing bonds. Making the Fund publicly available starting with Nordnet was a conscious choice.

- For many years, Nordnet has been the first to offer Swedish private investors easy access to funds and other investment opportunities. Private investors are now provided with additional opportunities to diversify their savings through Cat Bonds, which have little or no correlation to other asset classes and that contribute to a good risk adjusted return in traditional portfolios, says Mr Robert Lindblom, Entropics CEO.

Entropics is the first Swedish asset manager specialised in Cat Bond investments. Mr Lindblom emphasizes that this is a strength:

- The Swedish and Scandinavian domestic markets will be Entropics’ primary market for a long time. We communicate with investors in Swedish and have a better understanding of Swedish market conditions than our competitors. One outcome of this is our policy for responsible investments, reflecting the expectations from many Swedish investors.

Entropics Asset Management AB is Sweden's first asset manager specialized in Cat Bonds. Entropics is licensed by and under supervision of the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.

Cat Bonds are securities that transfer specific insurance risks from an insurer to investors. This enables the insurer to assume larger risks, such as natural catastrophe insurances, thus improving protection for home and business owners.

For investors, Cat Bonds offer an investment class with good historical risk-adjusted return, highly uncorrelated with financial markets.

Please note that historical return is no guarantee of future returns. Investments in the Fund may decrease as well as increase and you cannot be certain to have your investment returned in full.
