Newly established prize "Vuoden Metallijulkisivu". Nominate now!

Vuoden Metallijulkisivu (Metal Facade of the Year) is a newly established prize, that is awarded to a Finnish architecture firm for a building where the properties and expressions of the metals have been utilized in a successful architectural design.

Vuoden Metallijulkisivu is distributed by the Finnish sheet metal industry in order to encourage and pay tribute to innovation and sustainable constructions with focus on metal facades and roofs.

Criteria’s to nominate:

• The building must have metal façade and/or roof.
• The building must have been designed by a Finnish architecture firm, and can be located in Finland or abroad.
• The building must have been completed between January 2018 – August 2019.

Anyone can nominate a building that fulfill the criterias.

Three finalists will be announced in the beginning of August.

The winner will be presented during the Helsinki design week, at the architecture event PLOOTU19, September the 12th.

The jury consists of representatives from some of the leading companies in the sheet metal industry.

To nominate a building for Vuoden Metallijulkisivu 2019, please send the following information in English:

• Contact person
• Architecture firm
• The building’s name and address.
• Choice of steel/metal on facade and/or roof.
• Brief description of the steel/metal design and the processing.
• Other comments, for example on innovative solutions, developing collaborations or environmental focus.
• Sheet metal or sheet metal mounting company.
• Finish time, year and month (only the exterior).
• 2-4 images (low resolution) of the building, attached in the e-mail or a link.

Nominations for Vuoden Metallijulkisivu 2019 must be submitted no later than July the 3rd, 2019, via e-mail to agnes@farfromstandard.se.
