Family fun at Heden Arena

Heden Arena is located in the middle of Gothenburg, and it is one of the championship venues during the Longines FEI European Championships 21-27 August. We are happy to announce the Heden Arena programme, full of family friendly shows and exhibitions. Heden Arena will host the championship disciplines Para-Equestrian Dressage and Driving, but it’s also the home of Shopping Village by EuroHorse, with 100 exhibitors, sponsor activities and stage- and restaurant areas.

Heden Arena is more than a competition venue, it’s also a large exhibition area. Welcome to Heden Shopping Village by EuroHorse, where you’ll be able to find more or less everything related to equestrian sports and beyond. Among the 100 exhibitors you will also find the official European Championship Merchandise collection by H&M at their pop-up store.

There will be a busy paddock program with a number of horse shows as well as a stage with public lectures, and fun activities to try for the whole family. The paddock program includes shows from different breeds, Mounted Games, Western, Agility and more. Also, you’ll be able to try riding, free of charge, every day, presented by riding Scholls affiliated to the Swedish Equestrian Federation. When you’re at the paddock, make sure you stop by the Championship mascot, mini Shetland pony Anton and his pony friend Vinnie from ATG. You can read more about the paddock program here: http://bit.ly/2twVk9g

During the championship week at Heden Arena, the Swedish Equestrian Federation will be displaying the different disciplines of Swedish equestrian sports. Pony trotting and pony gallop together with ATG, obstacle jumping for children together with Agria and a European Championship in hobbyhorse riding together with Länsförsäkringar. At the Saab monter you’ll be able to learn more about technical innovations in equestrian sports and at the Evidensia monter they’ll display how technology is pushing veterinary practises forward. The After Ride is taken care of on stage by the radio station Mix Megapol, who will be joined during the week by, among others, local music high school Rytmus. Well-known restaurateurs such as Gustav Trädgårdh and Mats Nordström will be serving first-class food all week.

It’s free of charge to enter Heden Arena all week.
