Spectacular opening ceremony at the FEI European Championships 2017!

A spectacular show featuring music, fairytales and Swedish cultural history will set the stage for this year’s biggest event in Gothenburg, the FEI European Championships Gothenburg 2017. Once the opening ceremony is over, the best Equestrian athletes of Europe will turn Gothenburg in to one big arena during August 21-27 2017 when they compete for the medals in the Championship disciplines Jumping, Dressage, Driving and Para-Equestrian Dressage.

The Championships week sets off with a spectacular opening ceremony at Ullevi Stadium on August 21, free entry and everyone is welcome to celebrate the start of the championships. The audience will experience a cavalcade of Swedish traditions such as the cultural history of Sweden, fantastic fairytale characters and lots of music.

The opening ceremony will be directed by acclaimed show designers Owe Sandström and Lars "Lalla" Nilsson.

The great atmosphere sure to be generated by the opening ceremony is something to build on as the championships gets off the ground.
