Another Studio x Gina Tricot

Mix old with new and new with old. With circular fashion in focus, we’re launching a remake capsule collection, featuring reconstructed vintage garments developed in collaboration with designer Anna Lidström of Another Studio. Men’s shirts and jackets that have been given a new, trendy design in the form of easy-to-style, key items for women. Beyond Retro is the producer and supplier. Each look has a unique and personal twist, and is easily styled with other garments in Gina Tricot’s range. The collection will be available exclusively in selected stores from 24 March.

“This collection is truly something special! It has challenged our existing processes, but thanks to the collaboration of a fantastic team from Gina Tricot and Anna and Jennifer as designers, the results are better than we could have imagined. I’m so proud of this collaboration – old items have been reborn as new fashion,” says Emma Garrote, Global Production and Sustainability Manager for Gina Tricot.

Anna Lidström is a fashion designer and a researcher at the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, Sweden. She focuses on circular and sustainable fashion, and giving old garments new life through remake design. Anna is also founder of Another Studio, a creative design studio where she works with concept development, styling, research, and collaboration. For the Another Studio X Gina Tricot collection, in which men’s garments from second hand are the raw materials, Anna teamed up with design colleague and friend Jennifer Larsson.

“What’s special is that Jennifer and I have worked from existing garments, which means that the garments themselves are the raw materials. In this case, we’ve had to turn traditional design on its head, and our design is based on completely different principles. We’ve focused very much on keeping it simple and wearable. Extending the life of an existing garment offers significant environmental savings. The design potential here is also very exciting. In the Another Studio X Gina Tricot collection, innovative design has transformed “second hand” into “first hand”. I’m convinced that more and more companies will discover how this way of working can enrich the palette of circular and sustainable fashion,” says Anna Lidström, Founder and Designer for Another Studio.

The remake collection will be released in selected stores, and will be available from 24 March 2021
