GleSYS joins Swedish Data Center Industry Association

The Nordic IaaS-provider and data center operator GleSYS has joined the Swedish Data Center Industry Association. SDIA supports actors in the data center industry in Sweden by promoting sustainability initiatives, collaborations and stimulating long-term growth.

- As an IT infrastructure provider committed to sustainability, joining SDIA aligns with our vision for the industry's future development. We look forward to collaborating with our peers to support research and innovation projects, and enable the industry to grow, says Fredrik Dobber, CCO of GleSYS Group.

GleSYS is a leading IT infrastructure as a service provider that offers sustainable, cost-efficient, and compliant high-performance computing across the Nordics.

They own and operate three data centers in Falkenberg, Stockholm, and Oulu and provide cloud services in Oslo, Amsterdam, and London. GleSYS also acts as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) via an extensive European fiber network.

Today GleSYS started supplying district heating to Falkenberg Energi. In this unique collaboration, surplus energy from the newly constructed data center on Sweden’s West Coast is recycled and used to generate district heating. The venture has the potential to heat 1,700 residential buildings while simultaneously reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1,570 tonnes – every year.
