Glesys sells STHIX to NL-ix, reinforcing its focus on Nordic digital infrastructure

Glesys has sold Stockholm Internet eXchange (STHIX) to European Internet Exchange Point (IXP) operator NL-ix, a wholly owned subsidiary of KPN. The sale aligns with Glesys' long-term strategic priorities, allowing the company to focus on the continued development of its core business in cloud services, data centers, and digital infrastructure. Through the acquisition, STHIX becomes part of NL-ix's European network, where internet exchange and network interconnection are central to its operations.

Founded in 2006, STHIX is a carrier-neutral internet exchange based in Sweden. Glesys acquired the business in 2020 with the ambition of supporting the development of an open and well-connected internet infrastructure in Sweden.

Since the acquisition, Glesys has worked to develop STHIX and support efficient, reliable internet traffic exchange. The sale to NL-ix brings STHIX into a broader European network interconnection platform.

Continued Partnership With NL-ix

NL-ix is a European IXP operator with an extensive network for internet traffic exchange and interconnection. Through the acquisition, STHIX becomes part of NL-ix's European platform, creating potential new opportunities for customers and partners.

Glesys will remain a customer and infrastructure partner of NL-ix following the sale. This ongoing relationship means Glesys will continue to play a role in the infrastructure supporting STHIX's operations.
