Goodbye Kansas sharpens the focus on core business

“We have taken a strategic decision to focus on our core business in Goodbye Kansas Studios (Visual Effects & CG productions) and Infinite Entertainment (IP development and co-productions) and decided to divest Goodbye Kansas Game Invest AB to sharpen our focus on this growing market. I’m very satisfied that the new home of GBKGI is THQ Nordic, a company we know well and we know will take good care of them. Now we’re looking forward to the next steps in the development of the remaining companies within the Goodbye Kansas group” says Peter Levin, Group CEO and co-founder of Goodbye Kansas AB.

None of the other companies within the Goodbye Kansas group are affected by the acqusition. Goodbye Kansas Studios - with offices and studios in Stockholm, Uppsala, London, LA and Hamburg - will remain the core company of the group. Goodbye Kansas Studios produces award winning game cinematics and visual effects (VFX) and animation for films, TV series, commercials and games. The company's services also include creature and character design, art direction, digital humans and RealTime render expertise. And the in-house Performance Capture studio and 3D Face and Body scanning facility is one of the most modern ones in the world.

"We look forward to develop the services of Goodbye Kansas Studios even further, and have identified Performance Capture, Digital Humans and RealTime technology as three areas to focus even harder on, and with our new HQ in Stockholm we are more than well equipped to meet the demands of tomorrow." says Annika Torell, CEO and co-founder of Goodbye Kansas Studios.

Footnote: The acqusition of GBKGI was announced by THQ Nordic on August 14th 2019. The purchase price was SEK 42.4m and the the acquisition included a portfolio of minority investments in five early-stage development studios; Palindrome Interactive, Fall Damage, Neon Giant, Kavalri and Framebunker and royalty rights to the upcoming game Biomutant. GBKGI’s previous investments in IGDB and Goodbye Kansas VR will be retained in Goodbye Kansas AB.
