STAR Impact is a new in-the-making impact investing fund initiated and backed by GU Ventures. We want to change how we think about businesses and investments. We support enterprises that have both impact and business goals embedded in their objectives with a focus on pre-seed/seed stage innovations in the Nordics. With our holistic approach to impact investing, we strive to better understand the ecosystem and find synergies as well as identify new stakeholders, markets and products. Our selected areas of interest are food, nature and life quality. We aim for significant direct and indirect positive impact alongside financial returns.
Who are you?
- Passionate about making the world a better place and believe in driving change through impact investing.
- Feel personally connected with the mission and goals of STAR Impact and inspired by the possibilities of supporting early-stage innovations.
- Excited about being part of a new organisation that is in a start-up phase itself.
- Accessible, pro-active and well-organised person with eagerness to learn and develop .
- Strong leadership skills, working with multiple stakeholders at all levels and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Fluent communication in English and at least basic understanding communication in Swedish
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience from investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, private equity or entrepreneurial environment.
- Advantage if you have relevant network of entrepreneurs, co-investors and other members of the financial, VC and start-up ecosystem, as well as history of successful exits.
What you will be doing
This is a new role, where exact tasks and responsibilities are adjusted on an ongoing basis.
- Together with the investment team, you will be responsible for the entire investment funnel: deal screening, due diligence, impact risk & opportunity identification, investment execution.
- You will play an active role in the business and impact development of the portfolio companies and making sure that they are on the right track.
- Contribute to internal and external process development of STAR Impact and forming the organisation.
- Represent us at public events and build the brand of STAR Impact.
Benefits
Here is where we want to be honest. We are a new in-the-making impact investing fund. In the early periods of starting up the operations we can offer equity shares in STAR Impact and later a full benefit package. The position may be suitable for part-time in the first periods.
