DPella strengthens its intellectual property protection – European patent on the way

GU Ventures portfolio company DPella has reached another important milestone in its effortsto protect its technology in key markets – this time within the EU. The company has recentlyreceived an R.73 communication from the European Patent Office (EPO) for its Europeanpatent application, indicating that the Office intends to grant the patent.

This represents a significant step forward in DPella’s European patent process and follows theearlier decision by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to grant thecompany its first patent for the same core innovation – the foundational idea behind DPella’screation.

With patent protection already secured in the United States and a European patent now in sight,DPella is strengthening its intellectual property position in the markets it identified asstrategically important from the outset. This provides the company with improved conditions toscale, enter partnerships, and commercialize its technology with greater confidence.

DPella’s innovation enables secure, efficient, and scalable analysis of privacy-sensitive data – anarea that has become increasingly important as data protection regulations such as the GDPR inthe EU, and corresponding frameworks globally, impose stringent requirements on how data maybe used.
