Open Call 2027: Textile Movement Talent Programme seeks new talent in textiles and design

Applications are now open for the Textile Movement Talent Programme 2027 – a one-year development programme for emerging talents in fashion design, textile design, textile art and crafts with a connection to Västra Götaland. GU Ventures is one of the regional actors contributing to the programme, in which the University of Gothenburg, through HDK-Valand, is one of the participating partners.

The Textile Movement Talent Programme gives participants the opportunity to develop their professional or artistic practice while building knowledge for more sustainable and long-term entrepreneurship.
During the year, selected participants receive support in areas including business development, brand building, legal matters and business models for creative practices. The programme also includes individual mentoring and coaching, a network of other creatives, and opportunities to connect with actors from industry, academia and the arts.
Participants also gain access to textile labs and studio environments at HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design at the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås.

GU Ventures is one of the regional actors contributing to the Textile Movement Talent Programme. For GU Ventures, the initiative is closely aligned with our mission to support knowledge, ideas and innovations connected to the University of Gothenburg in their development and their potential to create value for society.

The programme is run by Xperience Next at Lindholmen Science Park together with HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås. Regional actors contributing to the programme include Textile Movement, Röhsska Museum, Business Region Göteborg and GU Ventures. The programme is co-funded by the European Union and Region Västra Götaland.
Applications are open until 31 December
Applications for the Textile Movement Talent Programme 2027 are open until 31 December 2026. Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis, and selected applicants will be invited to interviews in January 2027.
