Sortina Pharma, a pioneer in the development of next-generation cancer therapies, today announced the appointment of Professor Hubert Hondermarck to its Scientific Advisory Board.
Professor Hondermarck is an internationally recognized leader in cancer biology and neuro-oncology, with a particular focus on the role of the nervous system in cancer progression. His pioneering work has helped define the emerging field of cancer neuroscience, highlighting how neural signaling and nerve–tumor interactions contribute to tumor growth, metastasis and treatment resistance.
He currently serves as Professor of Biomedical Science at the University of Newcastle, Australia, where he leads cutting-edge research into neurotrophins, tumor innervation and biomarkers for aggressive cancers, including brain and pancreatic cancer. His work has been widely published and internationally recognized for opening new therapeutic opportunities targeting tumor-nerve interactions.

About Sortina Pharma
Sortina Pharma is a pre-clinical drug development company founded in 2020 based on research originating from professor Göran Landberg´s research group at Gothenburg University. The company develops anti-Sortilin small molecule inhibitors as oral treatment for cancer patients, with or at risk of recurrencies and metastases, aiming to increase survival rates of incurable Sortilin positive cancers such as Glioblastoma, Breast Cancer, Melanoma and Pancreatic Cancer.
