Pressmeddelande

Rolf Wolff appointed President of the Stockholm School of Economics

The Stockholm School of Economics board of directors has today appointed Professor Rolf Wolff as the School’s new president. Wolff will take up the appointment on July 1, 2012.

After a thorough search, the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) board has selected Rolf Wolff as the School’s new president. Rolf Wolff is a professor of business administration and has a long and distinguished career behind him, including service as the president of Gothenburg University’s School of Business, Economics and Law, academic appointments at a number of universities outside Sweden and seats on a number of boards of directors. Wolff has also previously spent time at SSE.

“Rolf combines valuable qualities and valuable experience: proven leadership, successful fundraising and a genuine understanding of the academy. During Lars Bergman’s successful tenure as SSE President, the School managed both to overcome some significant economic challenges and to position itself well against international competition that is growing and intensifying.  The board and Professor Wolff agree that this work will continue, with the aim of further strengthening SSE’s position in the international arena”, said Erik Åsbrink, Chair of the SSE Board of Directors.

“I am honored and enthusiastic about my new appointment. My task is, together with my colleagues, to continue to support the positive trends already underway at SSE. Together we will ensure that, as a well-established business school, the Stockholm School of Economics maintains its strong position in the face of increasing global competition for reputation as well as for resources”, said Rolf Wolff, newly appointed President of the Stockholm School of Economics.
