Herenco refines the strategy and divests the Swedish packaging distributor PacsOn to OptiGroup
Herenco divests the wholly owned holding to OptiGroup. PacsOn is a packaging distributor with approximately 150 employees and a turnover of 840 million SEK. PacsOn is a leading supplier of products and supply solutions within packaging and industrial consumables.
“PacsOn has developed strongly during recent years within the Herenco Group and we are ensuring that PacsOn will continue to develop in a positive way with OptiGroup as the new owner”, says Thomas Bergdahl, CEO Herenco AB and continues:
“Divesting PacsOn gives Herenco new possibilities. We will focus 100 percent on developing companies with own products and services and will full-heartedly expand our packaging business nationally and internationally with the brand Emballator. We have a strong market position in the Nordic countries and in the United Kingdom. We want to expand within new geographic areas to get closer to our customers and strengthen our offer.”
The sale of PacsOn is a part of the Herenco acquisition strategy.
“We are strongly motivated by developing our position as a leading and innovative converter of future packaging materials. Our refined strategy means that we are open to new investments related to packaging but also for new market segments where Herenco Invest is the driver in the group”, says Thomas Bergdahl.
The acquisition, which is subject to approval by the Swedish Competition Authority, is expected to be completed in the coming months. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
